Parish Council meeting - dates and venues

  • 21st November 7.30pm at Edlesborough Memorial Hall
  • 19th December 7.30pm at Edlesborough Memorial Hall

Allotments

A large majority of tenants paid their rents on time and letters have been sent to those still owing. From October 2014 an administration fee will be added to the allotment rents for those not paid by the required date, notices of which appear on the Allotment gates four weeks before collection.

There are currently a few allotments available at Cow Lane and The Green, Edlesborough, please contact the Assistant Clerk, Mrs Penny Pataky, if you wish to take on an allotment.

Extension of Play Area on The Green

All work on the installation of the new play equipment has been completed and RoSPA have inspected and approved everything. The Council hopes that children and their parents will find the additional play equipment - and the new seats - beneficial. The Council apologise to parents and children for having to seal off the complete area while work was in progress due to Health and Safety precautions, but were extremely disappointed to find that some parents were lifting children over the fencing to reach the play equipment despite several notices being displayed. The Parish Council will not be held responsible for any injuries or damage to property whilst notices are in place and when Parish Council notices appear on it’s property they are there for a reason and should be observed at all times, which includes the Bye-Law notices on the Village Green particularly where they refer to dog fouling and keeping dogs under control at all times.

Dagnall - Gaddesden Walk

Council are in the process of assessing the expenditure required to complete the footpath.

Streetlights

With the onset of darker evenings parishioners are reminded that if they notice a streetlight not working or there appears to be a problem would they please contact the Clerk or Assistant Clerk, NOT AVDC or Buckinghamshire County Council as the streetlights are the responsibility of the Parish Council.

Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police are encouraging parishioners to sign up for Thames Valley Alert which will keep them up to date with incidents occurring around the neighbourhood.

Thames Valley Police have reported that at the beginning of October 10 burglaries took place in Aylesbury Vale within 2 days all happening during the daytime. Residents are again reminded to make sure their properties are securely locked and alarmed, if possible. If anyone witnesses anything suspicious to call Thames Valley Police on 101 and report it immediately as it is maybe that patrols might already be in the vicinity.

Bucks CC are inviting residents to ‘Have Your Say’ by completing a survey online at www.buckscc.gov.uk/budget e-mail:[email protected] or by calling 0845 370 8090 on what they consider should be the County Council’s priorities from April 2014 - March 2015.
