Thames Valley Police Report 2015/16

PCSO Jackie Dodson attended the Annual Parish meeting and reported that there has been an unusually high number of vehicle crimes for the area; with thefts from 13 vehicles over the past year. Some offenders have been apprehended along with £1000’s of recovered equipment. TVP ask that owners be more security conscious and ensure they mark their tools and belongings with permanent marker pen to enable the police to return them.

Crime Figures:

  • Burglary dwelling - 3
  • Burglary Non Dwelling - 3
  • Theft in a dwelling - 1
  • Vehicles Interference - 5
  • Criminal Damage: - 4 to vehicles, 3 to other

There are no reports of anti-social behaviour.

PCSO Dodson confirmed that she has served the community for 11 years and that her position is fully funded by TVP at Wing so the parish is not currently in danger of losing her services.

Chairman’s Report for the Annual Parish Meeting

The Chairman. Cllr Alan Williams, gave a ‘PowerPoint’ presentation of the Council’s various activities during the past year.

This included a review of major projects set for the parish for the year April 2015 to March 2016 and accomplished successfully.

  • Streetlights -virtually complete
  • New Pavilion supported by EPC – planning approved
  • Devolved Services from Bucks CC – new contract in place for April 1 2016
  • New financial software and on-line banking – in place
  • Neighbourhood Plan or updated Parish Plan? – Neighbourhood Plan underway October 2015

The one area of disappointment was the new housing application opposite the school that was opposed by EPC but granted by AVDC We are pleased to continue to support our EDaN Teams. We celebrated the installation of the Floodlights at the church by the Friends of the Church on the Hill, the success of the Traffic Management Team in persuading BCC to downgrade the A4146 and approved a new tree planting scheme proposed by the Beautification Team. The Community Car Scheme continues to provide a valuable service to parishioners and will welcome new drivers to the scheme.

The projects for the current year to March 2017 are

  • Full implementation of Devolved Services
  • Catch up on the services neglected by BCC
  • Implement a new Parish Council website
  • Finalise, together with Edlesborough Community Sports Club, the direction for the new Pavilion
  • Implement key projects e.g. Defibrillators
  • Complete the Neighbourhood Plan successfully (see current status below)

The Chairman thanked County Cllr Avril Davies, District Cllr Chris Poll and the parish councillors for their work on behalf of parishioners. In addition, thanks were given to the many volunteers who support the Parish Council as allotment wardens, EDaN Volunteers, charity trustees, sponsors and all the many unidentified parishioners who help keep the villages tidy.

Edlesborough Parish Neighbourhood Plan

The work on the plan continues in earnest with Village Task Groups focused on determining the key issues of new housing, location and design criteria. The current information can now be found on the parish website www.edlesborough-pc.gov.uk under 'Planning'.

Three Neighbourhood Plan ‘Open House’ events will take place in July to share the current status and to get feedback from parishioners on the proposals.

  • Tuesday July 5th at 7.30pm in Dagnall Village Hall
  • Saturday July 9th at 2.30pm in Edlesborough Memorial Hall
  • Monday July 11th at 7.30pm in Northall Village Hall

The information provided will cover the overall Plan proposals together with specific proposals for each of the three villages. Parishioners can attend any of the ‘Open House’ events as the information at each will be identical. Parish Councillors, Steering Group members and Village Task Group members will attend to provide information, answer questions and receive feedback.

Best Kept Village

Edlesborough has once again entered the Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village competition, judging will take place between 6th June and 8th July.

Edlesborough Green

We are extremely proud of our village green and love to see all parishioners enjoying this wonderful facility. Now that the weather is improving and the green is being used even more please remind you children that the cricket square is NOT to be used for football games/kickabouts or picnics.

Allotments

Edlesborough Parish Council currently has vacant allotments. Anyone wishing to take on an allotment should contact the Parish Clerk. Fees are £1:80 per pole and plots range in size from 5 – 20 poles.

Speedwatch

Edlesborough Parish Council Meetings

The next Edlesborough Parish Council Meetings will take place as follows

  • Dagnall Church Hall, Thursday 16th June 2016
  • Edlesborough Memorial Hall, Thursday 21st July 2016

The meetings will commence at 7:30pm.

All Parishioners are welcome to attend all Ordinary Parish Council meetings and may ask questions, raise issues and give suggestions during the Open Forum before the formal start of the meeting. The full minutes of the Parish Council meetings are normally available to view on the website or from the Parish Clerk.
